Playing Volleyball
The main tournament is played as a set of six-a-side competitions for Men's, Women's and Mixed teams. Each competition is divided into a series of divisions, and you should enter the one that most closely matches your standard.
Competition Division Standard Men Div I NVL Div II County Div III Social Women Div I NVL / Regional Div II County / Social Mixed Div I NVL / Regional (3 women on court at all times) Div II County Div III Social The organisers may merge or adapt divisions depending on the number and type of entries received The 6-a-side is played on 9x9m grass courts. Normal rules apply with scoring to 25 over 2 or 3 sets depending on pools and timing.
This year, we will also run a 2-a-side competition to offer extra play for the more energetic players in the main tournament.
The 2-a-side is played on 8x8m grass courts.
Remember that the 2 a-side competition runs after the 6-a-side - it begins at about 4pm on Saturday and concludes on Sunday. If you are looking for a dedicated beach tournament, this is not it - every year someone fails to read the info and complains that they have travelled all this way only to play a few hours of 2-a-side.....
